How long does it take to see results?
Can I use it more than twice a week?
Most dermatologists do not recommend the use of a chemical exfoliant more than twice a week for most skin types as the skin needs time to heal between treatments. Overuse of chemical or other acid-based exfoliants, as well as the use of high percentage strength of chemical exfoliants can result in a compromised skin barrier as well as increased inflammation, dryness and sensitivity.
What skin type is it suitable for?
The Renew Toner was formulated by a dermatologist for all skin types including sensitive skin. It is especially good for people looking to target specific concerns such as hyperpigmentation, dark spots, acne and related scarring, dull skin, dry skin, and aging skin.
What is an exfoliating toner and how is it different from a regular toner?
Typically, a toner restores the skin back to an ideal pH to ensure optimal functioning of the skin barrier. Traditionally, toners were used daily after cleansing to balance the pH of more alkaline cleansers however this is an unnecessary step if the cleanser is a skin-optimal pH to begin with (for example, Motif's Abundance Cleanser).
Exfoliating toners can also be referred to as resurfacing toners or chemical peels. They contain active ingredients such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), BHAs or PHAs, that dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells, allowing them to slough off more easily, leaving the skin smooth and susceptible to other active ingredients in skincare.
