“RENEW is the just-right, at-home chemical peel that repairs the skin while it safely triggers resurfacing.”

DR. INDY CHABRA, MD, PHD

Stanford-educated, double board-certified dermatologist

Cell turnover slows measurably with age. Non-viable surface cells accumulate, dulling the complexion and slowing the renewal underneath. RENEW accelerates the renewal that aging slows, using chemical dissolution at the surface calibrated for consistent results without inflammation. Most exfoliants use one acid at one depth. RENEW uses three acids at three molecular sizes, each working at a different depth, for graduated renewal instead of a single aggressive pass.

  1. Lactic Acid, mid-depth. Loosens the bonds between cells at the mid-epidermis. Also a skin-identical humectant, so it hydrates as it resurfaces.
  2. Mandelic Acid, surface. The largest acid molecule, so it penetrates slowest and is best tolerated. Resurfaces at the surface without going deeper.
  3. Gluconolactone, surface and antioxidant. A PHA that works at the very surface while also scavenging free radicals.
  4. Peptide complex, support. Pea Sprout and Centella support collagen and calm the skin after renewal.

AHAs are pH-dependent. Below pH 3.0 they turn aggressive and barrier disruption becomes likely. Above pH 4.0 they go progressively inactive, present on the label but not working. pH 3.5 is the narrow window where all three acids are fully active while staying tolerable on an intact barrier.

This is why barrier integrity matters before RENEW. On a compromised barrier, even a well-calibrated acid can cause reactivity. On a restored barrier, the same formula renews consistently with no sensitization cycle. It is the clearest example of why the system works as a system.

Because the three acids are different molecular sizes, they penetrate to three different depths at once: Gluconolactone at the surface, Mandelic at the surface to mid, Lactic at the mid-epidermis. Graduated renewal across multiple depths, not one aggressive disruption at a single depth.

Feels like: A cool, watery treatment

Smells like: A chilled cucumber cocktail on the beach

One or two evenings a week, sweep it over clean skin (after ABUNDANCE) and leave it on. By morning, skin is smoother, clearer, more even. Smoother still over successive uses as surface renewal accelerates.

No sting. No flaking. The kind of resurfacing your barrier doesn't have to recover from. A slight tingle is normal at pH 3.5 on the first few uses, a sign of activity, not damage.

Peer-Reviewed Ingredients Every active in this formula is here because there is published, peer-reviewed research behind it, and we name the study. Not "clinically proven" with nothing to click. The paper, the journal, the year, on the page, so you can go and read it yourself.

Dermatologically Tested on Sensitive Skin Before this formula shipped, it went through a Human Repeat Insult Patch Test (HRIPT): a 4-week study in 50+ subjects, run by a 3rd party, independent laboratory, designed to detect irritation and sensitisation under repeated exposure. It is the standard dermatological safety test in this category. Not every brand runs it.

Stability Every formula is held through accelerated stability testing before it goes into production: elevated temperature, freeze and thaw cycling, and light exposure. It confirms that what is in the bottle at the end of its life is what was in it on the day it was filled.

How and Where It Is Made Formulated with a double board-certified dermatologist. Manufactured in an ISO certified, FDA-registered facility in California, USA.
Vegan and PETA certified. Cruelty-free and Leaping Bunny certified. 1% For the Planet member. Recyclable PCR bottle, recyclable FSC certified carton. 30 day guarantee.

What We Do Not Claim We have not run a clinical trial on the finished formula. Most brands making bigger promises than ours have not either. The difference is that we say so, and we show you the ingredient science instead: the paper, the journal, the year, for every active on the page.

No trace-quantity actives. Every active is included at the concentration where it actually Works.

No foaming surfactants. The primary cause of barrier disruption. Replaced entirely by enzymatic and oil-dissolution cleansing.

No synthetic or natural fragrance. The most common triggers of barrier reactivity.

No alcohol / ethanol. Drying and barrier-disruptive. Not present in any form.

No mineral oil. Replaced with lipids that integrate into barrier architecture.

No artificial colorants. The color is the formula.

Complete. Four products across the three systems behind how skin ages. Not a hero product you hope works, a system where each step makes the next stronger.

Clinical. Formulated by a board-certified dermatologist at the doses the research supports, not trace amounts for the label. Visible results, or your money back.

Consistency. Four considered steps, morning and night, that feel like a ritual you turn to again and again. Textures you look forward to, not a chore you abandon.

Certainty. One system instead of a shelf of products that never delivered. The last skincare brand you will try for the person who has tried everything.

Got questions? We've got answers

Yes, and the formula was built around that question. There is no glycolic acid in it. The four acids are lactic at 90 g/mol, malic at 134, mandelic at 152 and gluconolactone at 178, and molecular size is what decides how fast and how deep an acid travels. Glycolic, the acid most associated with stinging, is 76. Every acid here is larger and slower. Eight recovery ingredients are formulated alongside them, including centella, colloidal oat and allantoin, so the formula is doing two things at once rather than only resurfacing. If your skin is very reactive, start with one night a week.

Yes, and it is deliberate. Exfoliation is not a competition to see how much skin you can remove. Cell turnover takes weeks, so exfoliating nightly does not speed it up, it just keeps interrupting the barrier while it is still recovering from the last time. One to two nights a week is the frequency this formula was designed around, and the other five nights are when the results actually show.

Because depth is decided by molecular size, not by strength.

Gluconolactone, at 178 g/mol, is the largest and works at the surface. Mandelic, at 152, travels a little further. Malic, at 134, also holds the pH steady through the contact period. Lactic, at 90, is the smallest here and the only common AHA that is also a humectant, so it hydrates while it resurfaces.

Four molecules, four depths, in one pass. A single acid can only work at one.

It should not. Peeling and purging usually come from going too deep too fast, which is what happens when a small acid at a high strength is used too often. This formula does the opposite: larger molecules, a lower frequency, and recovery ingredients in the same bottle. Expect smoother texture rather than flaking. If you do see flaking, drop to one night a week. That is the formula telling you your frequency, not a phase to push through.

This is the formula's strongest argument. In a twelve-week study of 90 melasma patients, a salicylic-mandelic peel and a 35% glycolic peel reduced pigmentation by 60.98% and 62.36% - statistically indistinguishable, at p=0.876. The difference was in what else happened. In the glycolic group, 15.4% developed post-peel hyperpigmentation and 15.4% had persistent redness. In the mandelic group, neither occurred.

Sarkar R et al., Dermatologic Surgery, 2016

That was a peel at professional strength, not this product. But it is exactly why mandelic is the acid we built around instead of glycolic. Rebound pigmentation is the specific risk in melanin-rich skin, and a larger, slower molecule is how you avoid inviting it.

Yes, every day, and particularly the day after. Alpha hydroxy acids can increase sun sensitivity. That is why RENEW is a PM-only step, and why we would rather tell you here than let you find out. Daily sunscreen is the single highest-return thing you can do for tone and for structure, with this product or without it.

Yes, on different nights. Do not layer RENEW and a retinoid in the same session - alternate them. Vitamin C in the morning is unaffected. At one to two nights a week, there is plenty of room in the week for everything else you use.

If you are using a prescription retinoid or another prescribed product, keep following your dermatologist's directions for it, and introduce this alongside rather than in place of anything you have been told to do.

Texture first, which is unusual. The morning after your first use, skin feels smoother and makeup sits better. Over the first two to four weeks, tone starts to even and rough patches settle.

From about four weeks, the barrier half of the formula shows. In published ingredient research, 10% gluconolactone lowered transepidermal water loss by 33%, and 4% L-lactic acid raised stratum corneum ceramides by 48% over four weeks. (Jarząbek-Perz et al., Skin Research and Technology, 2023; Rawlings et al., Archives of Dermatological Research, 1996.) Those are studies on the ingredients, not trials of this bottle, but they are why this is a resurfacing step that does not leave the barrier worse off than it found it.

Pigment and firmness take longer. Twelve weeks and beyond.

At one to two nights a week, a bottle lasts around [VERIFY - see flags]. That is deliberately slow, and it means RENEW's subscription timing is different from the rest of the system. Set the interval to match how often you actually use it rather than taking the default, and adjust or pause any time.

They work at different depths on different halves of the same problem, and they are better together.

RENEW works in the top layers, one or two nights a week, clearing cells that already carry pigment. POWER works every morning and night on pigment that has not surfaced yet, slowing how much new pigment is made and how much is transferred. One clears the backlog. The other slows what refills it. Use only one and you are doing half the job.

RENEW also leaves a cleared, hydrated surface for POWER to land on the next morning, which is the whole reason it sits at Step 02.

The peptide in the name refers to Pea Sprout Extract, a plant-derived ingredient in the formula. It is not a synthetic peptide of the kind you would see on an ingredient list as an acetyl or palmitoyl compound, and we would rather say so here than have you work it out yourself.

The evidence in this formula sits with the acid architecture and the eight recovery ingredients alongside it, which is where the published research is, and where we would rather you judged it.
